Ask the Experts

Lucy Johns’ children have just come back from the doctors diagnosed with asthma and allergies as well as a plethora of scripts, but she really wants to look at other ways she can help. Mrs Johns decides to look at some of the options available to everyone.

Is there a company that can provide such a service?

Yes. Why not look at your home’s indoor environment, is it safe and healthy for you and your children? Mitey Fresh consultant will explore issues by room, by topic, providing a range of practical, easy to implement solutions and expert hints.

I don’t want something that feels “cheap and plasticy” or “medical looking”. Do they have nice materials and products?

Yes, they have several long term protective measures against some of the most commonly suffered inhaled allergens – mould, dust mites, pollen and chemicals – including highly effective, stylish dehumidifiers, medically proven allergy protective 100% cotton bedding, superior quality air purifiers and safe, natural products and services.

How do I go about this?

There are a few ways of doing this – you can contact them by phone, jump on to their website or they can come to you and walk you through your options.

Should I inform my doctor?

Mitey Fresh’s approach to minimizing exposure to indoor allergens is consistent with the recommendations of major Australian and International asthma and allergy medical opinion leaders. Yes, tell your doctor and get them to call Mitey Fresh and have a chat.

How many beds and rooms should we cover, as the kids are very active and like to play everywhere?

Either one bed for the dust mite sensitive person only, to as many beds needed to cover the whole family. Same with the rooms, treat one room or the whole house, depending on the allergen triggers and your family’s level of sensitivity.

Can the kids have their own bed and pillow so as they can have quiet time to relax?

Not only can they have their own bed, but they can also visit their friends or go on holidays by taking their allergy bedding covers with them.

Where do I start?

Once you contact Mitey Fresh, products can be sent to you by post, in-home treatment – we come to you, or have a friendly consultant visit your home and discuss the next step for a nominal fee.

How long will the process take?

Over the phone will take 10-30 minutes. In the case of an in-home consult will take around an hour and an in-home service can take any where from an hour to 5 hours.
